The Mera Ama Lapcha Pass to Island Peak Climbing is an exciting and challenging trekking and climbing expedition that combines the Mera Peak climbing, Ama Lapcha Pass crossing, and Island Peak climbing. 
The trek begins with a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek to the base camp of Mera Peak (6,476m). The climb to the summit of Mera Peak is challenging but achievable for experienced climbers. The summit provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Makalu. 
After descending from Mera Peak, the trail leads you to the Ama Lapcha Pass (5,800m), which is a challenging and technical pass that requires good mountaineering skills and experience. However, the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Ama Dablam, Kangtega, and Thamserku, make it a rewarding experience. 
From the Ama Lapcha Pass, the trail leads you to Island Peak base camp, where you will start your climb. The climb to the summit of Island Peak (6,189m) is challenging and technical, requiring good mountaineering skills and experience. However, the summit provides breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, including Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu. 
The descent from Island Peak leads you through beautiful valleys and traditional Sherpa villages before reaching the popular trekking destination of Namche Bazaar. From there, the trail leads you back to Lukla and a flight back to Kathmandu.

  • Day 01

    Arrival at Kathmandu- 1315 m

    Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by a representative of the trekking agency and transferred to your hotel for check-in. You will have time to rest and recover from your journey and later in the day, there will be a briefing about the trek.

  • Day 02

    Drive to Takshindu - 2900m

    After an early breakfast, you will start your journey towards the Everest region. You will take a private jeep or a local bus to reach Salleri, the headquarters of Solu Khumbu district, which takes around 9 hours. After a brief stop for lunch, you will continue your journey towards Takshindu, which takes another hour. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Takshindu.

  • Day 03

    Trek to Kharikhola - 2200 m

    Today, you will start your trek from Takshindu and descend towards the Dudh Kosi River. You will cross the river and gradually ascend towards the village of Jubing. From Jubing, you will continue to Kharikhola, a small Sherpa village. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Kharikhola.

  • Day 04

    Trek to Panggom - 2800m

    From Kharikhola, you will trek towards the village of Puiyan, which is situated on the ridge overlooking the Dudh Kosi River. After a brief stop at Puiyan, you will continue your trek towards Panggom, a small and beautiful village. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Panggom.

  • Day 05

    Trek to Ramailo Dada - 3276 m

    Today, you will trek towards Ramailo Dada, a small and beautiful village located on a ridge overlooking the Dudh Kosi River. The trail is steep and climbs through the dense forest of rhododendron and oak trees. From Ramailo Dada, you will have a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Ramailo Dada.

    Trek to Zatra Khola - 3122m

    From Ramailo Dada, you will continue your trek towards Zatra Khola. The trail is steep and climbs through the dense forest of rhododendron and oak trees. From Zatra Khola, you will have a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Zatra Khola.

    Trek to Khote - 3691 m

  • Day 08

    Trek to Tagnak - 4400 m

    From Khote, you will trek towards Tagnak, a small and beautiful village situated on the moraine of the Dig Glaciers. The trail follows the Hinku River and offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. You will stay overnight at a teahouse in Tagnak.

    Rest day, hike Thangnagri - 4800 m

  • Day 10

    Trek to Khare Camp - 5000 m

    On day 10, you will trek to Khare Camp which takes around 4 hours. This campsite is located at an altitude of 5000 meters and will serve as the base camp for the Mera Peak climb. The trail goes through beautiful valleys and you will be surrounded by the snow-capped mountains throughout the journey.

  • Day 11

    Hike to Mera la - back to Khare camp - 5430 m

    m Day 11 involves a hike to Mera La which is located at an altitude of 5430 meters. The hike will take around 3-4 hours and the trail is steep and rugged. You will have stunning views of the Himalayas and the glaciers around. After spending some time at the pass, you will return to Khare camp for the night.

  • Day 12

    Trek through Khare to high camp - 5780 m

    On day 12, you will trek through Khare and make your way to the high camp which is located at an altitude of 5780 meters. The trek will take around 5 hours and you will have to traverse through the steep rocky terrain. You will be surrounded by the majestic Himalayas and will have a stunning view of the Mera Peak summit.

    Mera peak summit(6476 m) back to Kongme Dingma (4948 m )

    Day 13 is the day you will climb the Mera Peak summit which is located at an altitude of 6476 meters. The climb will take around 8-9 hours and is a challenging climb with a steep ascent. Upon reaching the summit, you will have a breathtaking view of the Himalayan range. After spending some time at the summit, you will make your way back to Kongme Dingma which is located at an altitude of 4948 meters.

    Trek down to Seto Pokhari - 4870 m

    On day 14, you will trek down to Seto Pokhari which is located at an altitude of 4870 meters. The trek will take around 5 hours and you will be descending through the steep terrain. Seto Pokhari is a beautiful lake surrounded by the Himalayas, and you can spend some time taking in the scenic beauty.

  • Day 15

    Trek to Ama Labsta base camp - 5500 m

    On day 15, you will trek to Ama Labsta base camp which is located at an altitude of 5500 meters. The trek will take around 5 hours and you will be walking through the rocky terrain. The base camp is surrounded by the Himalayas and you will have a stunning view of the Ama Labsta peak.

  • Day 16

    Trek to Amalapcha pass(5845 m) to Chhukung(4730 m)

    On day 16, you will trek to Amalapcha pass which is located at an altitude of 5845 meters. The trek will take around 7-8 hours and you will have to climb through steep rocky terrain. From the pass, you will have a stunning view of the Himalayas. After spending some time at the pass, you will trek down to Chhukung which is located at an altitude of 4730 meters.

  • Day 18

    Trek to Island peak base camp - 5100 m

    After breakfast, we start our trek to Island Peak Base Camp. The trail initially descends through the beautiful Imja Valley, crossing the Imja Khola and then follows the lateral moraine of the Imja Glacier to the small settlements of Pareshaya Gyab and Lhotse Shar Glacier. From here, we make a steep climb towards the Island Peak Base Camp. Along the way, we will enjoy the stunning views of Ama Dablam, the Amphu Labsa, and other Himalayan peaks. We will spend the night at the Island Peak Base Camp.

  • Day 19

    Island peak summit (6191 m) and back to Chhukung

    This is the most challenging day of the trek, as we will be summiting Island Peak. We wake up early in the morning and have our breakfast. We then start our ascent towards the summit. The climb is steep and involves some technical sections, so we will be using climbing equipment such as ropes, harnesses, and crampons. The final ascent to the summit involves a steep snow slope, and we will need to use our ice axe and crampons to reach the top. From the summit, we will enjoy spectacular views of the Himalayas, including Lhotse, Makalu, and Baruntse. After spending some time at the summit, we descend back to the Island Peak Base Camp and then continue our trek back to Chhukung for the night.

  • Day 20

    Trek to Tengboche - 3800m

    Today's trek takes us to Tengboche, where we will visit the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most important religious sites in the Khumbu region. We will start the trek with a gradual descent through rhododendron forests and cross the Imja Khola before reaching Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village. From here, we climb up towards Tengboche, passing through beautiful forests and enjoying the stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Tengboche is located on a hill, and from here, we can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. We will spend the night at a tea house in Tengboche.

  • Day 21

    Trek to Namche - 3440 m

    After breakfast, we continue our trek down towards Namche Bazaar, following the Dudh Koshi River. We will pass through several Sherpa villages, including Kyangjuma and Sanasa, before reaching Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the largest town in the Khumbu region and is known for its vibrant local market. We will have some free time to explore the town and shop for souvenirs. We will spend the night at a tea house in Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 22

    Trek to Lukla - 2800 m

    Today's trek takes us back to Lukla, where our journey began. We will follow the same trail that we used on our way up, passing through several small Sherpa villages and enjoying the beautiful views of the Himalayas. We will spend the night at a tea house in Lukla.

  • Day 23

    Fly back to Kathmandu

    Today, we take an early morning flight from Lukla to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we will check into our hotel and have some free time to explore the city or do some last-minute shopping. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of our trek.

    This is a free day for participants to relax, explore Kathmandu, and do some last-minute souvenir shopping. In the evening, there will be a farewell dinner where participants can enjoy a traditional Nepali meal and reflect on their experiences during the trek.

  • Day 25

    End of the program

    On the last day of the program, participants will have breakfast at the hotel before being transported to the airport for their departure flight. The program officially ends upon arrival at the airport. Participants may choose to extend their stay in Nepal or continue on with other travel plans.
