Ama Dablam Base Camp Trek Itinerary

  • Day 01

    Arrival at Kathmandu

    Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, our representative will pick you up at the airport and drive to the assigned hotel where you will meet the rest of the group. The hotel is located in a quiet quaint neighborhood but walking distance of Boudha where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, and cafes.

    Please look for the I.A.M TREKKING board at the opposite railing of the terminal.

  • Day 02

    Fly to Lukla & Trek to Phakding

    Early morning we will take a short 35 mins flight to Lukla. After breakfast, we leave Lukla behind and trek 3-4 hours walk to Phakding on the Everest Base Camp trekking route.

  • Day 03

    Trek to Namche

    After breakfast every morning, we trek slowly via the dense oak and pine forest along with the Dudh Koshi River. Then, after a 3 hours walk, we reached Monjo crossing many suspension bridges with a great view of Mt. Thamserku (5,874 m).

    We register our permit and move up steeply through the high suspension bridge to Namche Bazar (‎3,440 m), the Everest region's commercial center, that takes about 3 hours. 

    On the way, before arriving at Namche, we will be greeted with glimpses of Kusum Kangaru (6,367 m), Mt. Thamserku, Konde-Ri, and Tabuche Peak(6,367 m).

  • Day 04

    Hike to Everest View Hotel, visit Khumjung village and hike further to Salawa (Lausyasa)

    Hike to Everest View Hotel (3,962 m) after breakfast at Namche, which provides a panoramic view of various mountains such as Mt. Everest (8,848 m), Mt. Thamserku (6,623 m), and others. Then, we walked to Khumjung Village after taking some photographs. From Syangboche airport at the highest elevation on earth, the route takes everyone in about 2 hours to the Khumjung Village-a traditional Sherpa village in the Khumjung Valley, the largest of all Khumbu villages at the foot of the holy Mt. Khumbu Yu Lha (5,761 m). 

    Upon reaching Khumjung Village, there's more to explore. You can stopover the Khumjung Monastery, where we can see a conserved skull that the locals claim to be that of a Yeti, the Hillary School founded by Sir Edmund Hillary itself, and the Khunde Hillary Hospital, the old hospital in this area supported and run by the Himalayan Trust, now sponsored by Sir Edmund Hillary Foundation. 

    After exploring Khumjung, we hike up to Salawa, where we stay overnight.

  • Day 05

    Trek to Pangboche

    We take the path full of Rhododendron and a narrow downhill and uphill today. Then we reach the ancient monastery of Tengboche, where we view the footstep of Milarepa, a legendary Tibetan yogi, and poet of the Kagyupa sect. Going on, we pass Deboche, and we enter the village of Pangboche after a few hours' walks.

  • Day 06

    Trek to Ama Dablam base camp & backtrack to Debouche

    We reached the river Imja Khol after a few minutes ' walks from Pangboche. After crossing the river, we take a steep climb up to Cholunche and marches towards the base camp of Ama Dablam.  The base camp is at the empty spot from where we can witness the surrounding snowcapped mountains.

    We had our packed lunch with spectacular views before heading back to Pangboche. Once we go back to Pangboche, we pack our stuff and retrace back to Deboche.

  • Day 07

    Trek to Monjo

    Retrace our trek back to Monjo following the same trail back. On the way back we will have lunch at Namche and explore the Namche Monastery and enjoy the view of Mt. Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Taboche, Kang Talge, and others. Then trek downhill towards Monjo.

  • Day 08

    Trek to Lukla

    Leaving Monjo, we retrace our steps past several Sherpa villages along the Bhote Koshi River, till we arrive at Lukla.

    Fly back to Kathmandu

    Today after breakfast, we will take a short 50 mins flight back to Kathmandu with our guide. Once at Kathmandu airport, we will drive back to our hotel.

    Free shopping day in Kathmandu, farewell dinner
